Michael’s Story
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Urban Design and an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technology from Southern Illinois University. Early in his career, he interned with Hershberger-Kim Architects in Tempe, Arizona, working under the Dean of Architecture at both the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. In 1986, he joined the State of Illinois’ Capital Development Board under Governor Jim Thompson, managing 60+ public projects valued at over $100 million. He later chaired the Village Center Development Commission for Deerfield, IL’s $140M downtown redevelopment and served two terms as Trustee in Bannockburn, also overseeing infrastructure and permitting as Sewer and Building Commissioner. With over three decades of experience, Michael has led construction management for municipalities, Fortune 500 companies, and large-scale mixed-use developments totaling more than $350 million.
